Evaluation Question 2
How effective is the combination
of your main product and ancillary tasks?
My products engaged my audience by creating the message
that my product revealed exclusive information that that wouldn’t get from anywhere
else. I used regional events such as the Clothes Show Live to engage my
audience as this was a local fashion event that would interest an audience who
enjoyed fashion. I mentioned this event in both my magazine and radio
advertisement. This method of combining the message in both tasks makes it more
remember able for the audience and when the radio advert is heard they will be
able to associate it with the article on the front of my magazine cover.
The sense of creating a brand identity for my product is
important. For example I used the same mid shot image in both my billboard and
front cover. I wanted my model to be recognisable to my audience, and for them
to immediately know what magazine was being advertised when they drove past the
billboard on the side of the road.
It is clear that the two texts above are both related. Not
only by the images but also by the font I have used. The name/brand of my products
is presented in a clear, bold font on both the cover and billboard, making it
clear to the audience. The brand name is also repeated in my radio
advertisement.
My audience will feel the sense of style throughout my
products. My radio advertisement has remained fairly mature and sophisticated
by using quite a mature tone of voice rather than a loud bubbly, chatty style
of voice. It sounds quite calm and pleasant to listen too. However to still
bring in that element of youth I have used a dance based track to keep that
young, exciting feel to my products. The sense of style is also maintained
throughout the magazine and billboard. Font choices and language played an
important part in this. For example I didn’t want to use bubble text as that is
more of a pop magazine convention. The thin italic font creates a much more
sophisticated look as I found through my research. The title of my magazine ‘Style
Midlands’ also makes it quite clear that the magazine is stylish. The word
style is much clearer to see, on the cover and billboard, so that when it is on
shop shelf or on a road billboard, the audience will see the word style and
associate it immediately with fashion.
